Originating at King's College, Cambridge in 1918, a Lessons and Carols service traces the story of Jesus through the Bible, illuminating God's plan of salvation as revealed in the Old Testament prophecies, and as now fulfilled in the New Testament. There are 9 readings, or "lessons", taken from Scripture, 4 from the Old Testament and 5 from the New Testament. Interspersed between the readings are songs and carols. Throughout the service, we are reminded of the central message of Christmas: Emmanuel has come!
Back by popular demand, join us for this unique and special service on Sunday, Dec. 11th at 9:15 and 11:00 AM and an encore performance at 5:00 PM.
