Summer Interns - Student Ministry

student interns

Are you looking for a meaningful way to grow and serve this summer? Join us as a student ministry summer intern. Our goal is to help you grow in your personal walk with Jesus and to help train and equip you to minister to others. Interns help implement our events and activities, and help foster community and connectedness within our student ministries.

Quick Stuff You Need To Know:

  • The internship will be approximately 30-40 hours/week and the work will be Sunday – Thursday.
  • The internship is unpaid, but includes a stipend to offset the costs of ministry (meals, admissions to events, etc.).
  • Commitment is May 30 – August 20
  • Applications are due by March 31st

The internship consists of four areas of focus and training:

Ministry Implementation

At the beginning of the sixth chapter of Acts, we see disciples of Jesus prayerfully appoint new leaders to participate in carrying out the work of caring for those within their community. Summer is a busy time of year in student ministry, and expanding our team is an important part of making sure things happen with excellence. As a summer intern, you will help implement and execute the planned events and activities for the student ministry. (Acts 6:1-7)

Ministry Exposure

The Bible tells us that the body of Christ is made of many members whose gifts and focus strengthen and complement one another. Our church is composed of many ministries that focus on equipping and empowering different groups of people. As a summer intern, you will help assist church-wide events and gain familiarity with multiple ministries within our church. (1 Cor. 12:12-14)

Personal Discipleship

In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, we see the call on the life of a follower of Jesus to pursue righteousness. Who you are in Jesus is far more important than the things you do; therefore, as a summer intern, you will be poured into personally and encouraged in your walk with Jesus. (2 Timothy 2:2)

Personal Influence

The last recorded words of Jesus to his disciples are called the Great Commission - the mission given from Jesus to every person who follows Him. As a summer intern, you will form connections with students with the ultimate purpose of helping point them to Jesus. As you spend a summer with intentional focus on the Great Commission, we hope that it will give you passion that carries into the next year of school or wherever God leads you. (Matthew 28:18-20)
