Our Children's Ministry curriculum is based off of the motto to "Lead Small." This means that we have classes for each age group along with committed Small Group Leaders who teach, love and pour into the children in their classrooms each week. We couldn't have a Children's Ministry without dedicated volunteers who are present each week. We ask teachers to either serve every Sunday for 1 year or serve every other month for 1 year. We have many volunteer positions to choose from. Come and join the team!
Small Group Leader: Lead children in provided lessons, actively engage with children during play time, worship, the Bible lesson and activities, be prepared to mentor and care for children on Sunday mornings.
Pathway Pals: Austin Oaks Church welcomes all ages with special needs. Our Pathways Program is based off of an inclusion model. Each child attends class and participates with their age group as much as they are able. We need pals to come along side these children as extra support in the classroom.
Job Coach: Job coaches step in during service times to help small group leaders be successful on Sunday mornings. They are responsible for getting any needed supplies, stepping in for a late or absent teacher or contacting the Elementary or Early Childhood Coordinator if anything is needed. This role stays present in the Elementary or Early Childhood hallways the whole time during service. They act as the Coordinator allowing staff to attend one of the Church service.
Bible Teachers: Bible Teachers must be energetic and creative individuals who can engage children through telling Bible stories. Bible teachers will teach the provided Bible lesson each week. Early Childhood Bible teachers are responsible for leading the hand motions for worship each week.
Worship Leaders: Elementary Bible times have live worship for the Kinder-2nd Bible lesson and the 3rd-5th Bible Lesson. Worship leaders must be able to engage children in interactive worship. Guitar or piano playing is preferred but singing along with hand motions to a power point is welcomed.
Greeters: Our amazing greeter team is present in the lobby of the Christian Education Center on Sunday morning during both services. They greet and welcome families and help with check in as needed. Greeters serve for about 45 minutes at the beginning of both services.
