At Austin Oaks, we want to do more than just take up space in our community. We want to serve our community. We want to offer light and love and hope in the world around us. As Francis of Assisi once wrote, "Preach the gospel at all times and when necessary, use words." We are the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. Come join us as we serve.
We partner with several area ministries and entities to serve our local community. They are:
The God of Hope Ministries - provides Christian care and discipleship to men and women incarcerated in Austin and the Central Texas area. See their website here.
New Life In Christ Prison Ministry - help correspond with inmates seeking a new life in Christ.
Odom Elementary - Our partnership with Odom focuses on supporting the staff and assisting with reading education, particularly in grades 1-3.
English as a Second Language - Serving international women, the class gathers women from over 10 different countries for love, learning and acceptance. Class participants have the option to also participate in a Bible study after class.
Camp Grace - Serving children with special needs, this ministry offers occasional day camps to families with the goal of giving a day of respite to parents and caregivers.
South Austin Pregnancy Resource Center - SAPRC provides free health, counseling and services for those expecting a child or recovering from pregnancy loss. Volunteers from Austin Oaks serve at the center as mentors, and being bilingual is a plus.
Austin Disaster Relief Network - The Austin Disaster Relief Network is comprised of churches, ministries and businesses within the Christian community of Greater Austin to help in times of disaster.
