Welcome to Pathways, the special needs ministry at Austin Oaks Church! This ministry provides a place where children and adults with special needs can hear the word of God, build peer relationships and gain independence. Through Pathways, families are provided a place for everyone to worship and given assistance to better connect at church and at home.

Sunday Mornings

Adults

The Pathways Class for adults with special needs meets at 9:15 AM in Room CLC 104 in the Christian Life Center. Guests are always welcome. For more information, contact Karen Nicholson.

Children and Youth

We believe in mainstreaming children/students with special needs into age-appropriate classrooms with a one-on-one Pal. Pals are available for preschool and elementary age children at  9:15 AM or 11:00 AM. Pals for Middle School and High School students are available at 11 AM only.

Because Pathways requires some advanced planning and knowledge, we ask you to please register by clicking below. Locating the perfect pal for your child takes time, so please complete this form no later than the Wednesday before you need your pal. For more information about Pathways Pals, contact Peggy Bryda for children and Karen Nicholson for youth.

Camp Grace

Austin Oaks Church hosts Camp Grace, a free day camp for kids with special needs and their siblings. Join our group on The City or find Camp Grace on Facebook to stay connected.

To learn more about the Special Needs Ministry, email Peggy Bryda for children, Karen Nicholson for middle school/high school students, and adults, or call the church at (512) 891-1600.
